This photo was taken around 1862. Shinchi-gura in the center and the buildings of Dejima to the left can seen clearly . The western branch of Nagasaki Bugyo is visible through the foliage behind Dejima. This photo captures a good view of Nagasaki in the Edo period. There is a wetland deep inside the harbour around the Urakami area.
