Zojoji is one of the six temple headquarters of the Jodo Sect and enshrines the tombs of the Tokugawa family. Yushoin is the Buddhist name of the seventh Shogun Tokugawa Ietsugu. The Chokugaku Gate has bronze tiles in eaves of Chinese barge board, and the side is a four-pillared Chinese-style gate with Chidori barge board. The picture was taken from the left front (see pictures no. 27-2 and 42-44). The bell tower can be seen to the right by the wall.
