From the width of the road and shape of the mountain, it is probably near the steel bridge of the present Hakone Tozan Railway. The road is the present national route no.1, and the pillar is probably the one that was built in 1892 as the second electric pole to be built on Japan. The same pillar stills stands on the road today.
