Three young women have their hair arranged in the "takashimada" style popular in the Meiji Period. Tea is being served. Each woman wear a "furisode" kimono and "kanzashi" hairpins. This is a formal costume. Cherry blossoms are painted on the "fusuma" sliding doors and on the scroll in the "tokonoma" (alcove) in the background.
