Shinobazu Pond was constructed by the priest Tenkai when he built Kaneiji Temple in 1625, imitating the shape of Lake Biwa with a Bentendo in Chikubushima. The photo taken from around the middle of the approach towards the edge of the pond. To the right behind the pine trees stands the roof of the left edge of the Bentensha. Several large lotus flowers are in bloom, showing that this photo was taken during summer.
