Imaichi was an important transportation link to Nikko, where the Onari (Nikko) Kaido, Reiheishi Kaido and Aizu Nishi Kaido met. Cedar trees donated by Matsudaira Masatsuna to commemorate the 33rd anniversary of the death of Tokugawa Ieyasu lined these roads. The great size of the cedar trees is emphasized by the rickshaw and carrier in the middle of the road.
