The mouth of the Wakana River at Mogi-Hongo in the mid-Meiji Period. Mogi was a popular resort among foreigners. The prefecture road to Mogi opened in 1885 and Mogi Hotel (later Beach Hotel) started service in 1906 and welcomed many visitors. This photograph evokes the rustic atmosphere of the fishing village.
