This is the slope leading from Kuromon Street in Ueno Park to the road next to the approach to Benten-do. The work on the park has not been completed, and it retains a very natural look. The size of the trees can be judged by the two people standing under them. Because the area around the pond has not yet been reclaimed, this photograph must have been taken in the first years of the Meiji Period.
