Naraen-Kongo is one of the two Nio (guardian deities) at Niomon, the entrance gate to Taiyuin. Taiyuin is both the posthumous name give to third shogun Tokugawa Iemitsu by Emperor Gokomyo and the name of his mausoleum. The other Nio statue is Mitsushaku-Kongo.
