The Kara Gate stands at the front when going through the Yomei Gate of Toshogu. It looks simple with just white and black, but the sculpture of the Chinese sages carved on panels near the ceiling, and the pillars of the gate are covered with elaborate carvings of dragons going upstream and downstream. The see-through walls of the main building are covered with gold, magnificent with copper pheasants in the upper tier and waterfowl in the lower layer.
