The photograph is entitled "Daibutzu Kamakura." The bronze lotus petals are visible, but the building on the right of the Buddha is more dilapidated than it appears in photograph #2747. Therefore, this photograph was probably taken later than photograph #2747, in the early part of the Meiji Period. It is recorded that these petals were made in 1736. The Great Buddha is an object of worship and climbing upon it is prohibited today.
