A plaque with the inscription "Toshodaigongen" by Emperor Omizuo hangs on the stone torii at the center of the front approach to Toshogu. The donor of the stone torii was Kuroda Nagamasa. A red-painted five-story pagoda stands to the left. Under the roof of the first floor, the 12 horary signs are carved. The Gochinyorai is placed inside.
