Three girls are reading a letter. Behind them, many types of chrysanthemum flowers are in full bloom in an exhibition. Their hair is in "momoware" style and they wear "furisode" kimono and "bokkuri" wooden clogs. This was typical attire for an outing in the Meiji and Taisho Periods.
