This is the halfway point on Nakashima River, Nagasaki, in the Nakagawa area. Because of the beautiful scenery and its natural spring water, the area was called "Karurusu" (after Carlsbad) and became a popular resort. This is a hand-tinted picture postcard showing the scene facing upstream ca. 1910. #5154 and 5155 are the same photograph.
