| Picture postcard of a warship being constructed at the No.1 Dock of the Mitsubishi Nagasaki Shipyard at Tategami. The original docks were completed in 1878 under the supervision of Frenchman Vincent Florent. Around the turn of the century, ship construction based on blueprints was introduced. Both the Sino-Japanese and Russo-Japanese Wars had ended, and larger docks like this one were built to accommodate large ships. |
